Design for a Better Philippines

I learned at this UXPH event that to understand that you must take a huge chunk of consideration the user's habits, experiences, habitat and behavior when designing an effective UX design. As a UX designer, you must defend the user's perspective, rather than metrics and etc.

I really appreciate that UXPH put together a free event like this and that the speakers were generous of their knowledge and experience. A couple of months ago, we researched as much as we could on designing for VR and your groups were the only ones who were able to provide the information that we needed, which could apply to us here in the Philippines. I have mad respect for you guys!

Just wanted to send you a quick note to thank the UXPH for having me at your conference. It was an honour to speak at your event, and hope to see you again for next years! The UXPH team ran an incredibly smooth event and the speaker experience was extremely streamlined and easy. This is one of the most well run events I have ever attended/spoken at. Huge thanks!

Great event! The multitude of topics and ginormous insights from this conference just filled my grid notebook — I guess i need to buy a new one. Kudos to the team! The energy, passion, insights, and empowerment is worth a million. More power to the UXPH community!

I love the UXPH team itself!! I just feel the teamwork and cooperation being so alive that even though the last days were getting hectic, I get encouraged from my fellow volunteers' energy! Also everyone is approachable so things get done right away :)

One important thing that I learned from this year's UXPH event, is that in order for a UX Designer to be effective, empathy should be a driving factor to your decision-making process, and having empathy means breaking your own mental model, so you should be much more open to every social and cultural possibilities of uniqueness, and be an effective advocate of change.
